did you know when you suddenly jerk awake while falling asleep, another version of you from a different timeline just died

This post fucked me up.

It’s actually because you’re heart rate decreased so quickly that you’re brain jerks you awake to make sure you’re still alive.

i dont know wHICH ONE IS WORSE

9.23.14 What’s the worst thing I’ve stolen? Probably little pieces of other people’s lives. Where I’ve either wasted their time or hurt them in some way. That’s the worst thing you can steal, the time of other people. You just can’t get that back.

How to be a football fan:

  • insult the referee like is the last day of your life. this is essential
  • temporarily hate the ones your team are playing against with
  • get pissed the fuck off when one from your team misses a goal
  • insult your own team
  • breathe and say it’s not their fault
  • insult commentators when needed
  • if the match is over and your team won be happy
  • if the other team won tell them to go fuck themselves
  • repeat next time

9.23.14

In school they teach you
how to multiply 9x8
make you read Macbeth
and have you memorize the first 10 amendments to the constitution.

But they don’t teach you how to
stop loving someone who has
stopped loving you
or how to deal with losing
a friend to an unsaid goodbye
and a relative to a cancer that ate
away their brain.

At home I learned from my father that
alcohol can make as many problems
as it solves
but damn does it feel good
to let my throat burn instead of my heart
and to tune out the problems in my head
that I just couldn’t solve.

Because life isn’t 9x8
and it isn’t the way authors describe
their characters in a story.

It’s those nights you lay awake
missing someone
wishing things could be different
and it’s the next day when you realize they can’t
and then it’s how you pick yourself up
after being down for so long.

I taught myself that.
